Excavator spare parts |
|
| |
Undercarriage parts |
|
| |
DIGBITS
stock undercarriage components and spare parts for most popular makes and models
of micro, mini and midi excavators, and are also able to supply
steel tracks for some models.
Sprockets in
particular, should be replaced whenever new tracks are fitted
to ensure they are of the correct pitch and will mesh properly.
This is particularly true on rubber tracks, which rather than
wearing the teeth down, tend to wear the dwell between the teeth,
down towards the sprocket centre. This type of wear damages tracks
since it causes an effective reduction in the sprocket pitch,
and an increase in tooth height.
Excavator parts
Bottom
rollers should generally be replaced either as a whole machine
lot, or at least one track frame at a time, since fitting a
single new roller alongside worn items, will result in the new
item bearing too much load, causing premature failure.
Any
worn, seized, or loose components can cause damage to tracks and
track motors due to increased drag and may also cause premature
failure of rubber tracks due to sprocket damage to the core wires
as a result of de-tracking.

Track
Rollers:
Undercarriages are designed so that the Bottom Rollers bear the weight
of the machine, whilst Top Rollers (where fitted) guide the track
over the frame.
Worn rollers should be replaced to prevent damage to other undercarriage
and drive components. |
 |
Drive
Sprockets:
Available for most popular mini & midi excavators from 0.75 to
7 tonnes, most are bolt on type (as shown below), but we do stock
some of the older, splined centre type items. Vital for good track
life and should normally be replaced when fitting new tracks. |
 |
Idler
Wheels:
For tensioning and guiding the track around the front of the undercarriage
frame.
Worn or seized idlers will create drag and can result in severe damage
to tracks and undercarriage due to frequent de-tracking. |

Pins, Bushes & Seals |

DIGBITS
quick reference diagrams, below left for micro and mini diggers up to 7 tonnes, and below right for 360o excavators up to 70 tonnes,
make identifying the correct parts far quicker and easier than OEM
parts books.
How to order:
Simply identify the location number(s) which require attention, and we
will quote you for whichever components you require; pins, bushes,
seals, or we can simply price the complete kit at that location.
We also stock tipping links and bucket links (see relevant page)
for mini and 360o excavators.

|
| |
 |
|
| |
 |
Dust Seals & Shims:
Dust and grease seals, and shim washers are available from stock,
compatible with most sizes of our bushes/pins. |
 |
Bushes:
We carry over 10,000 hardened steel, metric sized bushes in stock.
All meet, or exceed the OEM specifications for surface hardness
and finish.
Inside diameters: 25 to120mm |
 |
Pins
Bucket and linkage pins in stock for most machines from 0.75 to
70 tonnes.
Our
main strength lies with mini excavators, Japanese and Korean
360o excavators, and the JCB JS and CAT 300 series.
(All non-genuine).

Bucket & Tipping Linkages |
|
| |
|
|
| |
DIGBITS
hold stock for most popular mini and 360o excavators, from 0.75
to 45 tonnes.
Since tipping links are not bushed, the bores will eventallly wear out
and need replacing.
Damage
to both bucket links and tipping links can result from bucket
pins coming adrift during digging, or from fouling on items such
as lifting chains. Damaged links should be replaced immediately
to avoid further damage to the bucket, dipper arm, and bucket
ram.
|
|
| |
|
|
| |
For
your convenience we stock the tipping links in pairs, and the
bucket links without bushes, giving you the option of re-using
bushes where they are still in good condition.
Specials
can normally be manufactured to order within 14 working days.

Bolt-on Teeth |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Good,
sharp teeth are essential for ground penetration, enabling your
machine to dig with the least possible effort, and hence the best
efficiency. Using blunt teeth greatly increases the percussive
shock transmitted to the digging arm, and hence also to the slew
ring and undercarriage, as well as ultimately using more fuel
per cubic metre of earth shifted.
All
the bolt-on teeth in our range are in stock
in our warehouse, and are supplied complete with nuts
and bolts as neccessary. The full range can be viewed by clicking here.
IMPORTANT! When
ordering teeth, you MUST check and specify dimensions 'A' and 'B' in
order to ensure you receive the correct parts.
If
the effort of burning off old bolts, and bolting on new teeth
seems too much, you could always convert to our replaceble tip type teeth. Once the adapter is welded onto the
cutting edge, you can swap or replace tips quickly and easily.

Caterpillar Type Teeth |
|
| |
|
|
| |
The
Caterpillar type side-pin tip and adapter system is a tried and
tested formula, and offers wide choice of tip styles and exceptionally
good value for money. Our 'non-genuine' equivalent to the CAT
system is the most popular choice both on our new excavator buckets, and for customers repairing existing bucket, because as well as
being very well priced, it is easily available worldwide, since
you can also buy the (compatible) genuine article through your
local friendly Caterpillar dealer.
Replacement
tips are most easily identified by the length and diameter of
the lock pin.

Weld-on
adapter
|
Why
not bolt-on teeth? Ultimately, a two part tooth system
offers greater versatility of tooth types, and also greater
strength, since the adapters are welded to the buckets
cutting edge.
Why bother with different types of tip? The
notes above give some indication of this, but
basically it is the best way to ensure tooth
breakage/wearcosts are kept to a minimum, and
to ensure youre not wasting fuel by struggling
to dig with blunt or incorrect teeth.
Which is the best tip? There
is no best tip, and tip
choice is not an exact science, particularly
in varying ground conditions. However,
if you use the best compromise for
your particular job, and review the
criteria regularly, you can save a
great deal of time and effort. Remember
that tips may be swapped before they
are worn out, and kept aside for future
use.
What machines can they be used on? Basically,
there is a size of tip and adapter
to fit all excavators from 1.5 to 80
tonnes. Many machines are already fitted
with this system, but if not, it is
a relatively easy job to weld the adaptors
onto the bucket edge and convert.
What if I want a flat edge? If
you need to dig a flat base to a trench,
you can weld a cutting edge accross
a set of tips to form an 'underblade'. These can be swapped
for standard tips at any time, and
re-fitted when you next need to use
a straight edge. |
